Creating a website can be very confusing, even if you are a "net vet".   Below are some of the more common questions that clients have asked us.

Q:   Where do I start?

A:   The very first thing you need to do is sit down and decide what type of website you want.  Ask yourself these questions:

  • Why do I want my company or organization on the internet?
  • Do I want to be able to sell a product directly from the site, or are my needs geared more toward an informational or member-friendly site?
  • Who is my target audience?
  • How much do I want to invest in this site?
  • What are my design preferences?
  • Which existing logos or graphics do I want to incorporate into the site design?
  • How large of a site do I need?
  • How many e-mail addresses do I want?
  • If you can answer the above questions, then you have already taken a huge step in the direction you want to go in.  Look around at other sites, get a feel for your competition, and if anything catches your eye, send us a link as an example for your site.

Q:   Now that I have decided to place my company on the internet, what do I need to do to get started?

A:   One of the first things you need to do is decide on a Domain Name.  A domain name should be simple enough to remember easily when the average person thinks about your business or organization.  Commonly, this will be the name of your business itself - such as www.trysor.com.  Once you have decided on an appropriate name, we will check its availability, and in cases where your choice(s) have already been taken, we will offer suggestions for alternatives.  Once your domain name is secured and registered, we will begin designing your site which will then be hosted on a reliable and fast server, offering plenty of space for all your needs, as well as company E-mail addresses.

Q:   What do I need to supply Trysor Designs with initially?

A:   You will need to gather any advertising material, brochures, and pamphlets about your company or organization.  You want your website to reflect your company's already high standards.  Any logos, banners, key phrases or words that you use in advertising will need to be carried over onto your website.

A few more questions to ask yourself at this point:
  • Do I have a logo that will work well with the styles I have chosen?
  • How much of the graphics am I providing - and how much will I need made?
  • Do I want my site linked to other businesses or organizations?
  • How do I want people to navigate through my site?
  • Do I want a simple and effective site, or a heavily graphical site?
  • You will probably have many questions and ideas during the building of your site.  ALWAYS feel encouraged to consult with us about anything you would like to discuss.  What we are building should make you proud to be displaying your business on the world wide web.
